Aaliyah's debut album Age Ain't Nothing However A Number debuted in 1994. When she was just 15 years old, the album earned Gold recognition. The album was a collaboration that was highly influenced by R. Kelly and it put the singer in the limelight. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland for her second studio album One In A Million, which featured the #1 hit track If Your Girl Only knew. Aaliyah was recognized internationally as a R&B artist following their release of the sophomore album, One In A Million. She was also as a character in Romeo Must Die, a romantic action film with Jet-Li. Joel Silver, film producer and director of the film Romeo Must Die, spotted her at an awards ceremony. In 2002, she was in the vampire film Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels followed, featuring Zee as the lead character. The singer had four Grammy nominations in 2001, 1999, 2002 and 2003. The actress employs Aarti Man as well as Aarti Mahumdar as her professional name. Although her early professional career was mostly dominated by small television and film performances, she rose to greater notoriety in the late 2000s. Other notable works she has done are Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. She has appeared in numerous commercials including Volvo's international car producer. She has a daughter, resides in Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
