Ryder's father is from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers herself Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria and two half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family relocated to Mendocino County in California, when Ryder was only seven years old. There, they didn't have electricity.
