Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her home town. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father is from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers herself Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria and two half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family relocated to Mendocino County in California, when Ryder was only seven years old. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder, who loved reading when she was 12 years old, became a reader due to the fact that Ryder did not have access to television. Ryder took acting classes when Ryder was 12years old and was enrolled in classes at the American Conservatory Theatre. Lucas the film, which was released in 1986 that she was in, was her debut major part. Ryder was 15 when she got it. Ryder was bullied in high school. Her acting career, she hoped to help, could have helped her. However, the plan didn't pan out. The actress continued to chase her ambitions. Her breakthrough came through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder continued to play successful roles in a variety of films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated in the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part as a character in The Age of Innocence.
